How we select our carers
The care providers that we select are critical to the reputation of our business and – most importantly – to providing you with the high-quality care that you need. The selection of our carers is absolutely fundamental to everything we do.
We make sure that all of the carers that we work with:
- Provide the support and companionship required for our clients to retain independence in their own home
- Respect our clients’ wishes and behave with integrity
- Assist with personal care tasks throughout the day
- Encourage and help our clients with day-to-day tasks, giving them the lifestyle of their choice
- Undertake light housework and other domestic duties in line with the client’s needs
Our Selection Process
All care providers that want to work in association with Countrywide Cottage Carers are required to complete a stringent application process, providing their experience and qualifications.
They are also asked to detail the type of client they are able to care for (e.g. clients with dementia, Alzeimers, Parkinson’s etc.), alongside their qualifications and in date certificates for manual handling, first aid, dementia awareness etc. We will also ask for two checkables references, an enhanced DBS and any other relevant experience.
If the care provider is successful in providing our pre-screening, then they will be invited to attend an interview where we will truly be able to establish the carers capability.
We recognise the importance of continuity for our clients and suggest having two to three carers that you are happy to have in your home on a regular basis. Most importantly, the choice is yours – you decide what is right for you and we will do our utmost to accommodate your wishes. If things are not working out, you can change your carer at any time without explanation. We will do our best to find a replacement carer as soon as possible.
